Idyll Farms

Idyll Farms dominates goat cheese awards at this year’s American Cheese Society contest!

Idyll Farms, a Michigan farmstead pasture based goat creamery, located in Northport, Michigan in Leelanau County, took home 10 medals from the 2019 American Cheese Society Awards Banquet, held in Richmond, Virginia on August 2.

This is the most they have won in any past competition, and it surpassed any other goat cheesemaker in this competition—a significant accomplishment for the relatively small farmstead winning over larger industrial creameries in just their 7th year of production. This brings their medal count to 25 American Cheese Society awards (as well as 5 World Championship Cheese Contest Awards and 4 United States Championship Cheese Contest Awards).

Medals consisted of five 1st place awards (Idyll Puck, Idyll Pastures Fennel Pollen, Idyll Pastures Honey and Lavender, Mont Idyll, Idyll Pastures spreadable), three 2nd place awards (Ricotta, Idyll Pastures spreadable Honey and Lavender, Mont Idyll), and two 3rd place awards (Idyll Gris, Idyll Camembert).
